The oldest member of the group, known as the ‘ZOOKEEPER’, will be responsible for the pouch of TOKENS.
The ZOOKEEPER is the Player in charge of distributing the games TOKENS into gameplay. When the Players shot matches the action on the back of a TOKEN for the first time, the ZOOKEEPER will hand out the corresponding TOKEN to that Player. The ZOOKEEPER is also responsible for collecting the TOKENS at the end of the game.
NOTE: The ZOOKEEPER will incur TOKENS the same way as any other Player, they are just responsible for initial distribution & collection of the TOKENS into gameplay.
Zoo Golf is played for 9 or 18 holes and starts at the first hole with a ‘Tee Flip’ to decide the order of who tees off first. Then, determine a punishment for the Player that loses Zoo Golf.
Zoo Golf begins from the first tee shot! The Player with the most TOKENS after the round LOSES the game.
Players receive TOKENS based on the outcome of their golf shots. Each TOKEN has an ACTION listed on the back. The Starter Set includes:
The Bear token is given when a Player's ball lands out of bounds.
The Snake token is given when a Player makes a putt in three or more tries.
The Camel token is given when a Player's ball lands in the sand / bunker.
The Monkey token is given when a Player's ball hits a tree or a bush.
The Fish token is given when a Player's ball lands in the water.
The Octopus token is given when a Player incurs 8 or more strokes on a hole.
Once a Player receives a TOKEN, they keep it in their possession until another Player's shot matches that ACTION.
When another Player's shot matches the ACTION of the TOKEN in your possession, that TOKEN is immediately passed to them. TOKENS may change hands frequently on the same hole.
Players can obtain multiple TOKENS per hole or within a single shot. For example; If a Player's shot hits a tree and lands in a sandtrap, they will receive both the MONKEY TOKEN and the CAMEL TOKEN.
The Player with the most amount of tokens loses Zoo Golf. If Players are tied with the same number of TOKENS at the end of the round, a ‘Chip-off’ or ‘Putt off’ will determine the Loser.
